Job Description

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking Golf Course Superintendent | Lakeside for the beautiful Barton Creek Country Club at Lakeside!

We're seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to oversee all turf and course maintenance operations at a golf facility located apart from the main property. This hands-on role requires strong agronomic expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to operate independently.



Responsibilities

    Oversee all aspects of the golf course grow-in, including turfgrass installation, establishment, surface preparation, irrigation, and bunker preparation.

  • Conduct regular inspections to monitor turf health, irrigation performance, and pest management, addressing issues promptly.

  • Lead, train, and supervise the golf course maintenance team, ensuring safe and efficient equipment operation.

  • Manage procurement, maintenance, and use of all course equipment and supplies while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Golf to coordinate course schedules, cultural programs, and projects impacting guest experience.

  • Oversee and perform key agronomic practices including fertilization, pesticide applications, mowing, aerification, topdressing, and irrigation programming.

  • Assist with construction projects, budgeting, capital planning, and accurate record keeping related to operations, safety, and chemical use.

  • Support recruiting, training, coaching, and payroll accuracy for GCM associates.

  • Identify and report safety concerns, equipment issues, and procedural improvements.

  • Work closely with the Director of Agronomy to align key practices and standards.

  • Champion the Power of One / Omni Culture, promoting teamwork and excellence.

  • Attend required meetings and trainings and maintain flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.



Qualifications

* Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture along with a working knowledge of course renovation and grow-in
* A degree or advanced education pertaining to the science of golf course management.
* High degree of administrative and executive ability including effective written and oral communication skills and computer proficiency
* Must obtain and maintain state sanctioned pesticide application certification within 2 months of employment.
* Thorough understanding of the proper use of fertilizers and their application
* Thorough understanding of the proper irrigation of turf as it relates to turf health and course conditioning.
* Ability to prepare the golf course for play according to the rules of golf.
* Valid driver's license
