The School of Computing and Analytics ( https://sca.nku.edu) at Northern Kentucky University invites applications for two (2) tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Computer Science & Software Engineering (CS&SE) program, with an anticipated start date of August 2026.

We seek candidates who demonstrate a passion for both teaching and research, particularly in one or more of the following areas of computer science: software engineering , artificial intelligence, computer systems, human computer interaction, and closely related disciplines.

The School of Computing and Analytics ( SCA) is housed in the College of Informatics ( https://informatics.nku.edu) which unites the School of Computing and Analytics and the School of Media and Communication to embrace the modern concept of information in all its aspects. The College moved into its $52 million-dollar new building, Griffin Hall, in 2011. The SCA offers multiple degrees and operates as a combination of three programs: computer science & software engineering, cybersecurity & information technology, and information systems & analytics. The SCA has around 1,200 students majoring in those areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Specifically, the CS&SE program offers undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Applied Software Engineering, and Data Science, along with a master's program in Computer Science.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach both face-to-face and online courses. The standard teaching load in the School of Computing and Analytics is three classes per semester, including two upper-level courses. The candidate will be expected to teach across undergraduate majors and graduate programs in the School.
  • Maintain an active research agenda in the field, with an emphasis on involving undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activities.
  • Participate in service activities, such as serving on committees at the School, College, and University levels, and/or contributing to the professional community. *

  • This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Northern Kentucky / Cincinnati area.
