Job DescriptionThe Coordinator of Residence Life plays a vital role in enhancing student success by providing leadership and support for student engagement and leadership initiatives at TSTC. This position focuses on creating a vibrant and inclusive residential community, fostering student leadership development, and empowering students to become active, global citizens with a commitment to service. The Coordinator provides direct services to students, supervises staff, and develops innovative programs to enhance engagement among residential students.

Salary Rate: $42,000

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Core Values: Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.

  • Manage daily operations related to residence life, ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for on-campus students.

  • Collaborate with Facilities and Risk Management to enhance student safety and minimize risks within residential spaces and engagement activities.

  • Plan and execute leadership development programs, civic engagement opportunities, and community service initiatives.

  • Serve as the advisor for the Student Government Association (SGA), guiding students in leadership roles and organizational management.

  • Oversee student organizations, including their creation, monitoring, and support for activities and events.

  • Coordinate travel and ensure compliance with risk management protocols for student groups.

  • Assist in the planning and execution of new student orientation programs to foster a smooth transition to campus life.

  • Design and deliver student wellness and engagement initiatives using data to assess and improve programming effectiveness.

  • Oversee operations of the game room, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring a welcoming recreational environment.

  • Maintain timely and effective communication with students via email, text, and phone.

  • Provide clear information to students about college policies, procedures, and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience will be considered.

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in higher education.

  • Proven experience managing budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

KSA's:

  • Demonstrated creativity in designing student leadership and wellness initiatives.

  • Strong judgment, decision-making, and multitasking skills.

  • Expertise in FERPA compliance and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software, with the ability to adapt to new systems.

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
