Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Ultrasound Technologist, Breast - Part Time - Riverhead.
In this role, the successful candidate, under the direction of a Radiologist, operates Ultrasound equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images of the breast and performs procedures according to established standards and practices without constant supervision of technical detail.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operates Ultrasound equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas/parts as ordered. Produces diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Accurately reviews mammographic images with the radiologist. Views and determines select areas of interest to be scanned without direct supervision of the radiologist.
- Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Enters proper exam coding accurately onto the Radiology Information System. Arrives and completes exams in a timely fashion.
- Prepares patient using proper positioning and/or immobilizing patients and giving them the proper instructions regarding the procedure. Ensures images quality review fall within the guidelines of departmental SOP.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Graduate from an accredited approved Ultrasound program. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Current certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in Breast (BR) specialty. 1 - 2 years Ultrasound Technologist. Excellent communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office. Full working knowledge of the Ultrasound scanners..
Preferred Licenses: Diag Med Sonographer-Breast, Am Rgtry Diagn Med Sonographer
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates Degree In Healthcare related field.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $54.36 - $60.52 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
