As a Data Scientist at ddms, you will play a key role in developing and deploying advanced analytics, AI and machine learning models to support environmental remediation, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental chemists, data professionals, GIS specialists, and software engineers-to extract insights from complex datasets and help clients make data-driven decisions. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and validate predictive models using environmental, geospatial, and sensor data Apply machine learning techniques to support site prioritization, risk assessment, and remediation planning Develop data pipelines and automate workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and visualization Collaborate with project teams to define analytical goals and translate them into technical solutions Communicate findings through dashboards, reports, and presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences Contribute to the continuous improvement of ddms' data science capabilities and best practices Requirements include: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field 3+ years of experience in data science, preferably in environmental or geospatial domains Proficiency in Python or R, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow) Familiarity with environmental data systems such as EQuIS or similar platforms Desirable skills (not required): Experience with AI frameworks (e.g., generative AI, large language models, or applied AI for predictive analytics) Experience with GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial analysis Knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA) Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) Location: This position can be either hybrid in our St. Paul, MN office or remote in any of the following states: Alabama, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, , Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin. Compensation: The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
