About the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) at Georgia Tech provides progressive and responsive support in all areas of research administration. The team delivers specialized educational, informational, and technological assistance to research administrators and faculty, ensuring effective and compliant management of sponsored projects across the Institute.

OSP offers comprehensive cradle-to-grave administration for research contracts and grants with a wide range of sponsors, including:

  • All Federal Agencies
  • State and Local Governments
  • Universities
  • Federal Agency Pass-Through Entities (regardless of type)

Nonprofit Organizations (excluding private foundations)

The services encompass the full lifecycle of research administration from proposal review and interpretation of sponsor requirements to negotiation of appropriate terms and conditions, establishment of pre-contract agreements, and oversight of all active awards. OSP also manages modifications to existing agreements to ensure compliance and alignment with institutional and sponsor policies.

Job Summary

The Associate Director of Human Resources is responsible for supporting the strategic planning and execution of Human Resources initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness. They collaborate with senior leadership, provide guidance to Human Resource teams, and assist in implementing Human Resource programs and policies.Sets performance goals, contributes to evaluations, provides feedback, and supports compensation decisions. Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Assist in developing and implementing Human Resource strategies, programs, and initiatives that align with organizational objectives and promote employee engagement

Job Duty 2 -
Support recruitment and retention efforts by participating in talent sourcing, selection, onboarding, and retention strategies

Job Duty 3 -
Handle employee relations issues, grievances, and conflicts by providing guidance, mediation, and resolution support to promote a positive work environment

Job Duty 4 -
Contribute to the development and implementation of Human Resource policies, procedures, and guidelines that adhere to legal requirements and best practices

Job Duty 5 -
Support employee training and development initiatives by identifying training needs, coordinating programs, and evaluating training effectiveness

Job Duty 6 -
Assist in performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, feedback sessions, and development planning

Job Duty 7 -
Monitor and ensure compliance with Human Resource related laws, regulations, and policies to mitigate risks and maintain a fair and comprehensive workplace

Job Duty 8 -
Prepare Human Resource reports, metrics, and analytics to track key Human Resource indicators, trends, and performance metrics for decision-making and strategic planning

Job Duty 9 -
Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and well-being through communication, recognition programs, and feedback mechanisms

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience

Required Experience
6+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory knowledge

Master's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR background in higher education, federal agencies, or state or local governments, with an emphasis on the strategic development and implementation of policies, practices, and compliance, is preferred.
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMP, SHRM-CP) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to interpret and apply complex federal, state, and institutional policies.
  • Proven capability in leading and developing HR teams, driving operational excellence, and aligning HR strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Expertise in designing and executing strategic HR initiatives, leveraging data analytics and metrics to inform decision-making and optimize organizational performance.
  • Strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to influence and build partnerships across diverse functional areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, exercising sound judgment, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring consistent adherence to policies and best practices.

Salary range: $147,618.00 - $220,118.00
