Function:

Maintenance Job Summary:The Maintenance Supervisor will provide work direction and technical assistance for routine, shutdown, and project activities for the Maintenance Department. You will work with other departments to ensure safe and efficient execution of the daily maintenance activities. This position will lead a crew of maintenance technicians to repair fixed equipment and provide preventative maintenance for the Yazoo City Facility. This position reports to a Maintenance Superintendent and works on-site. This position will supervise the Central Maintenance Department which is responsible for the below primary job scope: Boilermaker trades, Fixed equipment welding & code repairs, Exchangers, Structural steel, Platforms & railing, Grating, Heavy equipment operation, Crane operation, Vessels, Sitewide railroad & signal equipment, General woodworking, Grounds maintenance, Tanks, AN drums, and General plumbing Job Description:
  • Provides working knowledge and understanding of the mechanical principles and procedures on plant equipment.
  • Provides adequate training for all the technicians on the crew. Promotes teamwork and leadership.
  • Communicates department goals to subordinates to ensure objectives are coordinated in a common effort to achieve our common goal.
  • Actively participates in turnaround and/or plant shutdown activities.
  • Ensures that proper safety procedures are specified and documented on all planned jobs.
  • Ensure technicians are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that maintenance can be accomplished in a safe, timely and effective manner.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members and conduct performance reviews.
  • Maintain training records and ensure technicians maintain required qualifications.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance costs and PM compliance.
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs for fixed equipment.
  • Coordinate and monitor contractor activities for specialized or critical work.
  • Conduct safety audits, job safety analyses, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS (SAP)
  • Provides leadership in improved efficient use of maintenance manpower.

SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENTS WILL HAVE:

  • High School diploma required.AA Degree or higher preferred.
  • 10+ years industrial experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
  • Experience working in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, planning, computer usage, decision making and training.
  • This position requires the individual to have the physical ability to access and egress all areas of the complex in a safe manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft IT environment.
  • Strong leadership skills- These leadership skills should include an ability to establish and articulate strategic and operating objectives, while maintaining a customer-oriented approach to addressing the needs of the facility.
