Job Summary The Supply Planner plays a critical role within the Procurement department, responsible for developing and executing strategic inventory plans for assigned brands or categories. This role ensures alignment across organizational functions and leverages advanced supply chain tools to meet demand forecasts efficiently. The planner collaborates cross-functionally to optimize inventory levels, improve forecast accuracy, and support revenue and margin goals. What you'll do
- Utilize supply chain tools and best practices to optimize planning procedures, analytics, and metrics for timely product delivery.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships in collaboration with demand planners to meet supply chain and category objectives.
- Analyze product categories and competitive landscapes to deliver supply recommendations aligned with inventory goals.
- Apply knowledge of pricing hierarchies and elasticity to manage products through their lifecycle.
- Maintain and apply inventory policies to support stocking and inventory management strategies.
- Analyze data to identify supply chain inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Use Blue Yonder analytics to report on key metrics such as days of supply, aging inventory, backorders, lead time, and supplier fill rates.
- Maintain planning parameters including forecast allocation, inventory policy, pack size, and calendars.
- Analyze demand patterns and set thresholds for stockouts and lead times using Blue Yonder tools.
- Troubleshoot and refine replenishment recommendations using Blue Yonder supply planning modules.
- Collaborate with demand planners and suppliers to ensure supply plans align with demand forecasts.
- Support demand planners in resolving low forecast accuracy issues.
- Partner with Product Management to enhance product offerings and secure incremental funding.
- Work with Brand Management to achieve budgeted margin and revenue targets.
- Publish monthly supplier projections and lead supply chain optimization initiatives.
- May be responsible for drop ship planning depending on brand/category.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across departments and with external partners to drive operational efficiency.
What we expect of you
- Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Inventory Planning OR
- 5 years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management without a degree
- Experience with demand planning/forecasting applications (JDA/Blue Yonder a plus)
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including with executive leadership
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications
- Strong business acumen and partner management skills
- Ability to travel when required
- Experience in highly transactional and volatile supply chain environments
- Critical thinking and resourcefulness in solving inventory and planning challenges
