The salary range for this position is $276,533-$452,107. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Application Window Open date: October 16, 2025 Next review date: Sunday, Nov 2, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Jun 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Faculty Position The Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, Davis is seeking to recruit one full-time academic Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join our division of 19 Pediatric Critical Care Medicine faculty. The UC Davis Children's Hospital is the only nationally ranked children's hospital in the Sacramento region. We have a state of the art 24 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit with an average of 1500 admissions annually. We have a well-established cardiac surgery program with two full time cardiothoracic surgeons as well as rapidly growing programs in interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. We have the region's only fetal care and treatment center and are an Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) recognized Center of Excellence for extracorporeal life support. UC Davis Children's hospital is the Central Valley's only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and the first American College of Surgery (ACS) verified Children's Surgery Center in California. We have a growing Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship, now matching two fellows per training year. The UC Davis Children's Hospital is located on the UC Davis Health System campus in Sacramento, California and serves a population of over 1 million children in the Northern California, Central Valley, and Western Nevada regions. With over 30 pediatric subspecialty services, UC Davis offers comprehensive pediatric care. We have an active critical care transport team. UC Davis is also home to one of the largest telemedicine programs in the country providing state of the art access to many community hospitals in Northern California. This position is open at the Assistant/Associate/Professor rank (commensurate with credentials) in either the Clinical X or Health Science Clinical Professor series. The candidate will be expected to participate in clinical care in the PICU/PCICU, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and research activities for the Department of Pediatrics and serve on departmental committees. The ideal applicant should have a healthy interest in academic medicine with a preference for advanced training in cardiac intensive care or significant research training and experience.
