Join our team as a Technical Writer in Sterling Heights, MI.

Pay: $52.65/hr.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Create, revise, and maintain complex technical documentation supporting product marketing, operation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ensure all documents meet company, customer, and government standards, including proper formatting, language, and technical accuracy.
  • Research and collaborate with engineering teams to interpret technical data, drawings, and specifications into clear, user-friendly documentation.
  • Develop and validate procedures, coordinate illustrations/graphics, and contribute to document design, layout, and style.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance documentation quality and efficiency.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience, plus 5+ years of relevant technical writing experience-defense industry experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, electronics, and system operations.
  • Proficient with XML Authoring Tools (e.g., Arbortext, Oxygen), MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Content Management Systems (CMS).
  • Experience creating Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and familiarity with military/commercial documentation standards.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with customer service skills and the ability to work across multiple locations.
