Are you a PowerPoint expert with expertise in creating visually engaging slide presentations? Starkey is seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join our Education and Training team at our global headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The Starkey Education and Training Department is the largest provider of continuing education for hearing care professionals in the U.S. We are seeking a Senior Presentation Designer to transform educational content into visually compelling and impactful learning experiences. This role partners closely with content developers to design, develop, and deliver high-quality visual materials including presentations, modules, workbooks, and videos for both online and in-person programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong graphic design background, exceptional creativity, and deep expertise in PowerPoint as a design tool. This position requires the ability to translate complex information into engaging visual stories, using design principles to enhance understanding and retention. The Senior Presentation Designer will play a key role in elevating how we communicate ideas by creating training materials that inspire, educate, and align with our brand's visual standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS



  • Design, develop, and enhance PowerPoint presentations to support training programs, workshops, and executive communications.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and visually appealing slides.
  • Incorporate multimedia elements, including animations, effective transitions, graphics, and interactive components, to improve learner engagement.
  • Ensure all learning materials align with branding guidelines and accessibility standards.
  • Uphold Starkey's visual identity and ensure consistency across all materials.
  • Review and revise existing presentations to enhance clarity, effectiveness, and visual appeal.
  • Apply instructional design principles to structure content effectively for adult learners.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in graphic design and visual communication.
  • Seek out new and innovative approaches to presentation design.
  • Transform complex copy-heavy slides into digestible content while retaining the overall message.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Education

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.


  • Experience

    • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, training development, or a similar role.




Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, including advanced animation, slide transitions, design techniques, video, audio, and photography editing capabilities.
  • Proficiency in multimedia authoring tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, InDesign, and Premier Pro.
  • Deep understanding of design principles, typography, layout, and color theory.
  • Competency in e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate or eqivalent e-learning software.
  • Effective knowledge in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
  • Experience working with SMEs and cross-functional teams to develop effective training materials.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively about how visuals enhance understanding.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and with others.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence in design and reducing complexity of material.


Important Note: This is a graphic design-focused position, not a teaching or instructional design role. Applicants must have a formal design education and advanced PowerPoint design experience.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $75,460 - $94,500 / year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
