Work Schedule: Full-time, 100% FTE, day shift. Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, no weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Pay: Pay range is based on a full-time (100%) position. Be part of something remarkable Join the UW Health Eye Care Team who provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages. We are seeking a Lead Optician to: Oversee and mentor Optical staff. Provide direction, coaching and motivate staff to achieve objectives and provide excellent patient care. Assist patients with selecting the right fit, shape, style of eyewear and dispense contact lenses. Perform eyeglasses repairs and adjustments. Qualifications High School Diploma Or Equivalent Required and Completion of an accredited Optician Vision Care Program Preferred and Some continued education courses Preferred Work Experience Computer experience Required Previous eye care experience Required Minimum 1 year or more supervisory or leadership experience Required 1 or more years optician experience Preferred Lab training or experience Preferred Contact lens training or experience Preferred Optical lab experience and/or optometric technician experience Preferred 1 or more years of work experience with processing insurance claims Preferred Licenses & Certifications Obtain ABO Certification within 18-months or three (3) testing periods from the date of hire, and maintain the certification within 1-1/2 Yrs Required American Board of Opticianry (ABO) Certification and/or National Contact Lens (NCLE) Certification Preferred Our Commitment to Social Impact and Belonging UW Health is committed to fostering a workplace that creates belonging for everyone and is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
