Executive Service EAST TN EMPLOYER EDUCATION AND REVIEW SPECIALIST State Treasury Department Nashville, TN Closing Date: 10/29/2025Who we are and what we do: The Tennessee Department of Treasury impacts the lives of Tennesseans every day. Treasury is responsible for many of the financial operations of state government, including managing more than $125 billion in assets through its various investment programs. We administer the States Retirement Program, RetireReadyTN, which combines the state pension plan, Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, and the States Deferred Compensation plan. Treasury serves all Tennesseans by helping to educate and empower individuals to make informed financial choices, and by providing public-serving programs in the areas of college savings, financial literacy, unclaimed property, criminal injuries compensation, and more. The East TN Employer Education and Review Specialist plays a key role on the Outreach team, serving as the primary regional contact for Local Education Agencies (public K-12 school districts) reporting to the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) defined benefit pension plan. Job Overview: The specialist is responsible for reviewing employer-submitted data to ensure accuracy and compliance with TCRS requirements. This includes identifying and resolving discrepancies through collaborative data review meetings. The role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in navigating databases and payroll systems. In addition to technical support, the specialist provides training and education to employers on the laws, policies, and provisions that govern participation in TCRS. This educational component ensures employers understand their responsibilities and are equipped to maintain compliance. Success in this role depends on a combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong relationship management skills. The ability to communicate complex information clearly and provide excellent customer service is essential. This is a remote position serving the East Tennessee region, with occasional in-person meetings and travel required. Candidates must reside in Tennessee, preferably within the East Tennessee Grand Division. Key Responsibilities:
