CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Wellness Center Daily Operations and Member Services

  1. Handle daily operations including closing and occasionally opening the center as required, laundry, answering phones, cleaning equipment, and other tasks as assigned.
  2. Serve as a resource for members regarding exercise prescription. Conduct one-on-one personal training sessions and group training sessions.
  3. Conduct member fitness assessments including aerobic capacity tests, body composition, circumference measurements, blood pressure, strength, endurance and flexibility testing.
  4. General fitness floor supervision.
  5. Must be available to work hours between 5:30 am - 7:00 pm. Flexibility for additional hours is beneficial.
  6. May be required to float between HQ and MGTC sites.

Group Exercise Instruction

  1. Plan and teach daily group exercise classes paying attention to current trends to meet members' needs.
  2. Learn and implement the process for instructing virtual group exercise classes.

Incentive Programming/Education

  1. Collaborate with Wellness Team to design, implement and evaluate wellness/fitness related programs.
  2. Provide monthly bulletin board and educational handouts on various health and wellness topics.
  3. Support Sherwin-Williams well-being initiatives and other related programs.
  4. Assist with and/or lead special interest groups such as volleyball leagues, running groups, etc.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion or related field or Bachelor's degree in another field with 1-3 years' experience in the Fitness Industry with additional fitness certifications.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • CPR/AED Certified
  • Group Exercise and/or Personal Training Certification or related degree.
  • Previous experience leading group exercise classes of varying formats.
  • Previous experience designing personal exercise programs and working one on one with clients of all fitness levels.
  • Experience with taking blood pressure.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.

Preferred

  • Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating fitness/wellness incentive programs.
  • Experience with exercise testing including body composition.
  • 2 or more years' experience in Corporate Wellness.

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Experience taking blood pressure
  • Experience teaching group exercise classes
  • Experience personal training

Preferred:

  • Experience with exercise testing including body composition, sub-max aerobic testing, strength and endurance testing.
