DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Installation Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing police services and ensuring the safety and protection of employees, the public, and all property, facilities, and grounds. Your duties will involve patrolling the area on foot or by vehicle, investigating accidents, and responding to calls for assistance or emergencies. As a sworn police officer, you will also enforce laws, rules, and regulations through warnings, citations, and arrests. Additionally, you will be required to direct traffic at public events and vehicle accident sites, operate patrol vehicles and communication equipment, and administer first aid in emergency situations. - Part-time employment, 40 hours biweekly
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. You will work rotating 12-hour shifts, with rotating days off.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:
- Successful completion of the Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission Certified Basic Police Academy (Act 120) training.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of a valid Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
- You must pass a physical ability test based on the Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission physical fitness assessment standards.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
- You must possess a valid federal or state-issued photo ID and pass a favorable NCIC screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must maintain an Automated Installation Entry (AIE) card once it is issued.
- You must obtain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
