Sr. Procurement Specialist

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials, components, and services to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and company standards. The ideal candidate brings strong supplier management skills, a strategic mindset, and experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.

Key Essential Functions/Duties:

• Collaborate with company leadership to design and execute strategic sourcing strategies for essential categories such as raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods.

• Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.

• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers.

• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to understand material requirements and resolve supply issues.

• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier performance metrics.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and systems.

• Lead or support cross-functional projects related to supply chain optimization.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.

• 5-7 years of procurement experience.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM).

• Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.

• Experience with food manufacturing.

• Familiarity with global sourcing and logistics.
