Job Summary: The IT Product Management Manager, managing a team of IT Product Managers, is responsible for the end-to-end management of technology products, from ideation to retirement. This involves working closely with stakeholders, including developers, designers, and business owners, to ensure that the product meets the organization's business and technical requirements. The role requires expertise in relationship management, product strategy, and operations with a focus on flexibility and adaptability. The IT Product Manager collaborates with all levels of management and supporting business units, such as law, compliance, and operations, to innovate and develop new business requirements and ensure their successful implementation. Job Responsibilities:
- Drives insights and recommendations from IT, Business and other internal stakeholders, and key partners across the enterprise. Partners with operations, technology, and key business partners to establish and nurture the IT product development lifecycle.
- Conducts multiple activities such as managing cross-functional teams, managing product road maps and releases, understanding product selling points, identifying and filling product gaps and generating new product ideas.
- Partners with digital designer to ensure a consumer centric design approach is executed at the center of the product engagement, driving decisions for product outcomes, and drives the creative and user experience.
- Guides a lean agile team to execute against a product backlog that builds high quality software solutions and ensures that the management and prioritizing of the agile backlog is executed effectively on all product teams.
- Ensures the projects align with the technology vision and strategy set in IT as a response to the Insurance business strategy.
- Serves as a point person responsible for assisting the business users with analyzing the business needs, defining the detailed requirements, validating solutions, and using business applications.
- Manages the release planning to coordinate cross functionally when dependencies exist between product releases.
- Works with the IT architecture and engineering leads to discuss and stay abreast of potential solutions and designs that address business needs without compromising overall IT vision.
- Ensures teams are developing high quality user stories, business architectures and solution architectures that are well defined to set the team up for success in execution.
- Manages prioritization and trade-offs between customer experience, business impact, performance, and post-launch support.
- Owns accountability for talent management and navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team including hiring and selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required. Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.
Job Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in IT Product Management or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field and/or commensurate experience. Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Product Manager (CPM) (preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) (preferred)
