TITLE: Director of Finance

LOCATION: Alsip, IL - Hybrid 2-3 days a week

COMP RANGE: $160,000 - $190,000/year plus bonus (US Currency)

Griffith Foods is hiring a Director of Finance to serve in a key unit leadership role and be a business partner to the US General Manager. This is your opportunity to be responsible for the development, management, and reporting of unit financial and operational performance with thorough analysis to maximize the overall profitability of the business. The candidate will actively identify opportunities for performance improvement and drives the implementation of those improvements. This is a strategic leader role for the US Finance Team, which sits on our Leadership Team.

As a Director of Finance, your responsibilities will include:

Operational / Profitability Finance Leadership

  • Responsible for the accurate reporting of the profitability of the company, customers, and products.
  • Leads the Commercial Finance team responsible for the support of the sales team through profitability analysis, pricing actions, and recommendations. Support development of long and short-term business and pricing strategies to effectively achieve profit and growth objectives.

Financial / Accounting Process

  • Leads the monthly financial reporting process.
  • Forecasting financial statements including profit and loss statement and balance sheet.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifies, leads, and implements continuous improvement activities within Finance organization. Supports other continuous improvement areas of the business.
  • Continuously reviews and implements improvements to the existing pricing process, guidelines, and strategies.

People & Development

  • Excellent leadership to motivate and build up team of 3 direct reports and 5 indirect reports.
  • Support the development of department employees. Continually work to improve talent, skills, and capabilities.

The Director of Finance role is well suited for you if you:

  • Have strong business acumen (not just financial) around strategy and decisions that will support and influence the company.
  • Enjoy building accurate forecasts on a monthly and daily basis with limited resources available.
  • Properly follow GAAP in all financial reporting. Ensure proper account reconciliations for balance sheet items and be prudent in managing expenses.
  • Ensure proper inventory valuation and manufacturing reporting process.
  • Ensure annual operating plan is completed on time and accurately with most up-to-date information.
  • Have working capital knowledge to support financial implications of payment terms extension, early vendor payments, and inventory pre-buy opportunities.
  • Have the ability to recognize financial trends and reasonability of numbers to provide proper guidance to the business (more than just reporting the numbers).
  • Provide financial strategic leadership to support unit goals, key initiatives, and future growth. Assist functional leaders in growing revenue, increasing productivity, and controlling costs.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 10 years' experience as a Finance Leader.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Strong experience with ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft D365, etc.).

What will set you apart:

  • MS Accounting or other related, advanced business degree.
  • Food or CPG manufacturing experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft D365.
  • Experience in global manufacturing or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change and driving process improvements.
  • Experience in cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

This role is affiliated to the Alsip, IL location, and candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance of that location and will be required to come into that location. You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings.
