Technical Specialist IIIin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: DUTIES:Guide successful completion of major engineering programs or conceive research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of company products and services. Select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues. Be consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field. Anticipate and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Work without appreciable direction, having work reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results. Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field required. Twelve years of wire harness installation design/planning experience required. Ten years of experience with Mentor Graphics (Siemens) Capital Harness (CHS) and CATIA V5 required, including any experience with: project leadership; developing Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) component definition including interfaces for flight controls; power distribution; power plant and communications aircraft systems; defining components to be used, taking into account environmental, material properties and applications; and with documenting EWIS compliance to * 25.981 Fuel tank explosion prevention. Five years of experience utilizing and developing advanced project metrics and tracking methodologies required. Must have full EWIS Material Review Board (MRB) authority. Must meet FAA Order 8100.15, 3-5(b) requirements to become an EWIS Engineering Authorized Representative (EAR), Candidate in Development (CID). In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field and twelve years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field and 10 years of the above-listed experience or a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering or a related technical field and 8 years of the above-listed experience. National and international travel up to 25%. Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE. Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
