UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Overview

The Department of Teacher Education and Administration (TE&A) seeks Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of Early Childhood Education (ECE). The successful candidate will assist program area faculty in 1) engaging in early childhood focused research and grant writing, 2) development of online courses, 3) expanding outreach and community and school partnerships that foster greater research collaboration, 4) growing partnerships with the Center for Young Children (CYC), and 5) building a regional ECE Alumni Network and strengthening student recruitment efforts.

Appointment Duration: 7 months from the start date

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, specializing in Early Childhood Education, or a closely related field, with ABD candidates considered if the dissertation is successfully defended before the start date. Research experience and a track record of publications focused on early childhood education and early childhood teacher education, experience in school and community collaborations and outreach.

Preferred Qualifications

1) Experience with research focused on early childhood educators, particular those working in child care, 2) research agenda that focuses on interdisciplinary, participatory, qualitative, and art-based methodologies 3) experience working on a research team, 4) understanding of quantitative approaches to research, 5) evidence of scholarly engagement, that includes developing IRB proposals, establishing relationships with early childhood schools and centers to form research partnerships and recruit participants, implementing mixed-methods research, and presenting and publishing research at regional, national, and international levels, 6) experience in developing online courses, 7) experience organizing meetings to help foster university partnerships and research collaboration.

  • Support advisor in expanding ECE research collaboration at UNT and in outreach, community, and school partnerships.
  • Support ECE program partnerships with the Center for Young Children (CYC).
  • Support advisor and ECE program in recruitment efforts.
