I. JOB OVERVIEW






Job Description Summary:

Reporting to the Interim Director of the Office of Access and Opportunity, the Outreach and Response Assistant plays a critical role in a coordinated response to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints.

The position's primary role is to support GW faculty, staff, and students by creating cases in the case management system, initiating outreach and facilitating intake, triage, and general case processing.

Please note that this is a limited term appointment from October 1, 2025 until June 30, 2026. The appointment may be extended at the discretion of the department. This is a part-time, hybrid position located on the Foggy Bottom campus.

JOB DUTIES

Response Coordinator

  • Conducts prompt, equitable, and impartial intake and preliminary screening of reports, and creates cases in the university's case management system.
  • Conducts intake meetings with involved parties which may include coordinating support measures and referrals to appropriate internal and external resources for impacted students, faculty and staff.
  • Consults with various university units and coordinates case referral and assignment.
  • Attends various university stakeholder meetings such as the OAO Operations Group, as needed.
  • Provides clear information to impacted parties about the Equal Opportunity, Nondiscrimination, Anti-Harassment, and Non-Retaliation Policy ("EO Policy) and Procedures to determine desired next steps.
  • Oversees the department email account and provides support to GW community members who request information on the EO policy and process.


Performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning additional responsibilities that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/ GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
