The Project Control Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by providing comprehensive project control and performance analysis. This position is responsible for monitoring project progress, analyzing data, and identifying potential risks and opportunities to keep projects on schedule and within budget. The analyst collaborates closely with project managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to develop accurate forecasts and reports that support informed decision-making. By maintaining rigorous control over project scope, cost, and schedule, the Project Control Analyst helps optimize resource allocation and enhances overall project efficiency. Ultimately, this role contributes to the achievement of strategic business objectives by ensuring projects are executed with precision and accountability.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze project schedules, budgets, and resource utilization to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project control documentation, including progress reports, cost forecasts, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Utilize project management software and tools to track project performance metrics and generate insightful reports for stakeholders.
  • Support the identification and mitigation of project risks by conducting thorough data analysis and scenario planning.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and communication materials for projectstatus updates and executive reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and contractual requirements related to project control.
  • Utilize project management software and tools to track project performance metrics, including Planned Value (PV), Actual Cost (AC), Earned Value (EV), and Estimate at Completion (EAC), and generate insightful reports for stakeholders.

Required Skills and Education:

Candidate must possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Finance, or a related field plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in project control, project management, or a similar analytical role within the professional, scientific, or technical services sector.
  • Experience with advanced data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or earned value management tools and familiarity with financial modeling and cost control methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and produce clear, actionable reports.
  • Knowledge of government regulations and standards related to project execution.
  • Experience working in a technical services and/or government program environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Security Clearance:

Candidate must:

  • Be able to pass DHS suitability screening or DHS financial responsibility standards.
  • Have or be eligible to receive a DHS Secret security clearance. Existing Secret Clearance is a plus.
