ASSISTANT MATERIALS MANAGER

DUNCAN, SOUTH CAROLINA - DUNCAN PLANT

As a member of the Materials team, the Assistant Materials Manager will be responsible for supporting supply chain operations. This role is critical in ensuring material availability, managing planning activities, and driving continuous improvement across our global supply base. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ERP systems, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate across diverse teams.

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:



  • Use SAP ERP and other systems to help plan and order materials.
  • Understand MRP to keep inventory levels balanced and support the supply chain.
  • Track daily issues like supplier delays, shortages, and backlogs; help create solutions with suppliers and planners.
  • Work with both domestic and international suppliers to keep materials flowing smoothly.
  • Lead and support material planners, making sure tasks are completed and reports are reviewed.
  • Communicate clearly with domestic and global partners and provide updates based on their needs.
  • Use tools like Excel and PowerPoint to review and share supply chain data.
  • Help improve processes to avoid running out of stock and manage urgent orders.
  • Create and update demand forecasts, and work with suppliers to get raw materials on time.
  • Support efforts to improve visibility across the supply chain.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to prevent stockouts, manage expedites, and enhance overall inventory management.
  • Work with Engineering to manage changes in product models.



Your Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement.
  • Proficiency in SAP ERP and strong understanding of MRP systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing planning teams or supply chain operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in cross-cultural environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and related tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
