Job Overview

To lead and direct the Distribution Center Receiving Inspection Quality team, to ensure both accurate and timely inspections of in-bound material, from both Suppliers and other HPS facilities.

A Day In The Life

  • Provide a Safe work environment for employees to work accident free.
  • Responsible for direct supervision of Distribution Quality employees, both salary non-exempt and hourly employees.
  • Good communications and technical skills required to help take organization to the next level.
  • Develop Quality I & T Plan's for both new and existing products to ensure consistently high levels of out-going product quality.
  • Serve as a technical liaison for both Hubbell Suppliers, and HPS Business Units when required.
  • Assist and promote quality improvements and cost savings, through the Kaizen improvement process.
  • Investigate manufacturing and supplier issues to develop solutions, which prevent re-occurrence.
  • Support all HPS Business Units, by providing technical resources and expertise in product inspections, and material inspection and testing.
  • Willingness to develop technical skills in:Material and Product Inspection, Testing and Evaluation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to travel periodically on business related trips
  • Ability to move to various locations within the Company
  • Ability to communicate professionaly, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work on personal computer or other related equipment as required
  • Minimum lifting requirement is up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and/or kneel.


PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:



  • BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Equivalent Technical Degree as deemed acceptable by company, or previous HPS manufacturing or quality supervisor experience with an associate degree.
