I. PURPOSE/SUMMARY Quality assurance of welds and weld analysis, calibration of gaging and measurement equipment, measurement analysis, gage R & R's, receiving inspection. II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lab compliance to quality procedures. Receiving inspection Dock audits (production & service) Band saw cut welds Plasma cutter to cut to parts to size Cut micro samples on precision cutter Polish and etch samples using polishing wheel and acid mixture Measure and analyze weld quality to weld specifications and record results Report findings to production floor Create and/or assemble required documentation for initial sample submission Perform calibration on all gages and measurement instruments Maintain gage calibration system Conduct gage analysis (Gage R&R) on all gages Provide assistance (training) to other in the proper use and care of measurement instruments Perform other task as needed to support quality functions III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities IV. JOB SPECIFICATIONS A. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED Quality background is a plus Previous welding analysis experience is a plus Ability to read and interpret blueprints is a plus Ability to read, write and understand technical documentation and complete various records and reports is a plus Knowledge and application of SPC is a plus Computer literacy and demonstrated logic skills - Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Lotus Notes Good mechanical aptitude (and skills) and special perception Ability to work independently, without direct guidance B. SKILL/CHARACTERISTICS Interpersonal communication skills Writing skills Math skills Computer skills C.
