About the role: 10x Genomics is seeking an exceptional Senior Automation Engineer to join its Manufacturing Systems Engineering (MSE) team. This role is within the MSE Software/Data team, responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of software and data solutions that support manufacturing processes at 10x Genomics. Individuals applying for this position must be self-starters, strategic thinkers, action driven, flexible in changing direction and methods, thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, succeed in communicating with all levels within the organization and provide immediate contribution. Ideal candidate will come from a science or engineering background with a track record of developing software and data solutions in a manufacturing environment. What you will be doing:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., customer-facing support teams, centralized data team, finance, logistics, manufacturing engineering, quality, hardware engineering, process development and R&D) to understand project objectives and propose scalable solutions.
- Validate and document non product software and data solutions in accordance with ISO 13485.
- Work closely with the data engineering team to design, build, and maintain robust data models and relationships within the Snowflake Data Cloud. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements, optimizing data structures, and ensuring data integrity for efficient analytics and business intelligence.
- Drive automation of data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes for operations/manufacturing large-scale data sources. Leverage scripting and infrastructure-as-code to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Create and maintain frameworks and analysis tools and dashboards that enable innovation and productivity across teams.
- Contribute to fast pace ad-hoc CAPA investigations and remediation
- Develop machine vision solutions
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of testing, conduct in-depth data analysis, and clearly document data engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to improve data engineering processes and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer science, Data science, Statistics, or related field
- BS with 5+ years of experience, or MS / PhD with 2+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop software and data solutions for manufacturing processes.
- Experience with data analytics and implementing data visualization
- Understanding of manufacturing statistical process control and monitoring.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in developing process controls for the manufacture of successful life science products.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, such as AWS or GCP
- Experience with Snowflake Data Warehousing Technology and modeling
- Experience with standard statistical analysis software (e.g. JMP, R, CHARTrunner, Minitab, Matlab)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Desire to be part of a rapidly evolving organization, with a compelling technology, and taking products and processes to the next level
- Working knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
Nice to have
- Familiarity Compliance Quest PLM.
- Familiarity with the GitHub CI/CD process.

Below is the base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one's skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company's total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x's equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.
