CONMED is modernizing enterprise analytics in support of our SAP S/4HANA program and a companywide data strategy. This Director role leads the Analytics and AI/ML portfolio-partnering closely with Data Engineering, Governance, and MDM-to deliver scalable insight products, AI solutions, and an enhanced reporting experience built on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. The Director translates strategy into a pragmatic roadmap, stands up reliable data and ML operations, and accelerates adoption of advanced analytics across functions. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Strategy & Roadmap
- Operationalize the enterprise data strategy for Analytics and AI/ML; define multiquarter roadmaps and value measures tied to business outcomes.
Delivery & Platforms
- Lead crossfunctional squads (product, analytics engineering, data science) to design, build, and run analytics products and ML solutions that improve growth, margin, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with Data Engineering to curate trusted, wellmodeled datasets and features within Microsoft Fabric lakehouses; champion performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Own standards for semantic modeling, SQL quality, and reuse across Fabric/Power BI; drive deprecation of legacy content as replacements go live.
AI/ML & MLOps
- Stand up practical AI/ML use cases leveraging Microsoft Fabric notebooks, Python, and Azure OpenAI/Copilot where appropriate.
- Establish MLOps practices (versioning, CI/CD, model monitoring, drift detection, retraining) aligned to enterprise engineering standards and governance.
Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Apply and extend Data Governance standards (data quality, lineage, access/security) across analytics assets and ML pipelines; align with the enterprise MDM program (e.g., Syniti, SAP Integration Suite) for consistent dimensions and entities.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and policy requirements in partnership with Information Security and Compliance.
Stakeholder Leadership & Adoption
- Serve as primary liaison to functional leaders (Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, Quality/Regulatory, etc.) to prioritize use cases and deliver actionable insights.
- Drive adoption and data literacy with enablement, documentation, and a community of practice for analysts and power users.
Team & Vendor Management
- Recruit, develop, and mentor a highperforming team of analytics translators, data scientists, and analytics engineers; foster a culture of experimentation and results.
- Manage external partners as needed to augment capacity and specialized skills; ensure outcomes, knowledge transfer, and sustainability.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7+ years of experience in handson leadership with Microsoft Fabric (lakehouse, pipelines, notebooks) and Power BI with a strong grasp of data architecture, ELT, and dimensional modeling.
- 5-7+ years of experience integrating SAP data and other enterprise systems into governed analytics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in BI tools and technologies, such as Databricks, SAP, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Master's degree
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Experience at a Big 4 or similar consulting organization a major plus
- Certifications across Microsoft analytics/AI stack (e.g., Fabric, Power BI, Azure) and data governance/MDM.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device or life science industry strongly preferred

The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
