Position Overview:

The Director of Engineering is responsible for the technical leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of all engineering activities within the program. This role ensures technical excellence, mission alignment, and compliance with all engineering standards and customer requirements. The Director will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to support design, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex systems across all phases of the program lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide strategic leadership and direction to engineering teams across multiple disciplines including systems, mechanical, electrical, software, and test engineering.
* Oversee system design, integration, verification/validation, and delivery to ensure compliance with contract requirements and industry standards.
* Collaborate with program management, operations, and customer stakeholders to align engineering efforts with mission needs.
* Develop and implement engineering processes, tools, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
* Serve as the technical authority for the program, providing guidance on design decisions, risk management, and technical trade-offs.
* Support proposal efforts, including technical volume development, cost estimation, and engineering resource planning.
* Ensure engineering rigor, compliance, and readiness for technical reviews, audits, and acceptance testing.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and professional development within the engineering organization.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field); Master's degree preferred.
* 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles supporting defense or government programs.
* Demonstrated success managing complex technical projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle management, and quality assurance standards.
* Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

* PMP or INCOSE certification.
* Experience supporting USSOCOM, Army, or major acquisition programs.
* Proficiency in engineering tools and platforms such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, DOORS, or equivalent.
