The Senior Consumer Credit Adjustor is responsible for solving customer account delinquency issues and performing collection activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs daily collection activities as assigned, collecting approximately 300-350 past due accounts per week. Solves customer delinquency problems through use of the telephone, letters or personal visits and maintains a record of every contact. Manages a portfolio for delinquency from 15 days to charge off. Makes referrals of accounts to the Collections Manager for litigation or repossession of loan or lease collateral. Collects charged off loans and leases to meet established goals. Appears at bankruptcy and small claims hearings as necessary. Assists in taking and investigating credit applications for delinquent accounts. Must maintain a working knowledge of bankruptcy law, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Assists in maintaining established consumer credit collection objectives, procedures and department goals. Investigates, skip traces and collects charged off excess wear and tear, loan and lease accounts. Coordinates and monitors charged off accounts sent to outside collection agencies or law firms. Monitors accounts for proper casualty insurance coverage to make sure the Bank's assets are not put at risk. Resolves problems associated with insurance agents and the proper documentation of customer's related insurance coverage. Recommends legal action where necessary and follows accounts to repossession. Prepares reports as necessary. Cross-sells other related bank products and services. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associates degree in business or finance is preferred. A minimum of five years of banking or related financial industry collection experience is required. A thorough knowledge of state and federal consumer collection laws as well as the Wisconsin Consumer Act is required. The position requires a flexible work schedule including occasional evening and Saturday hours as necessary to reach customers. Knowledge of MS Office products, particularly Word and Excel, are required. Effective interpersonal communication skills are also a requirement. Requires the ability to manage and prioritize the workload in a fast paced environment to meet deadlines. |
