Position Description: |
The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is conducting a search for the Chair, Department of Endodontics. This is a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level. Major responsibilities include:
- provide strong leadership and guidance for the department;
- mentor faculty and students;
- support faculty recruitment and retention strategies;
- offer faculty development opportunities;
- collaborate effectively with collegiate administration, faculty, and staff;
- teach at both graduate and pre-doctoral levels;
- participate and maintain active Endodontic faculty practice; and
- guide and conduct research and research programs.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check. Education Requirement: |
- DDS/DMD degree or equivalent;
- Certificate or Master's degree in Endodontics or related field;
|
Required Qualifications: |
- substantial record of scholarship, including a history of research funding and/or scholarly publications;
- evidence of current relevant teaching experience; and
- professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

Desirable Qualifications: |
HIGHLY Desirable qualifications:
- relevant leadership/administrative experience;
- American Board of Endodontics Board Eligibility or Board Certification;
- recent active Endodontic clinical practice experience; and
- recent history of teaching Endodontic specialty in CODA/CDAC accredited dental school.
Desirable qualifications:
- active research program;
- M.S. and/or Ph.D. in Oral Science or equivalent; and
- record of publications.
