CHAIR - DEPT OF ENDODONTICS

The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is conducting a search for the Chair, Department of Endodontics. This is a full-time clinical or tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level.

Major responsibilities include:

• provide strong leadership and guidance for the department;
• mentor faculty and students;
• support faculty recruitment and retention strategies;
• offer faculty development opportunities;
• collaborate effectively with collegiate administration, faculty, and staff;
• teach at both graduate and pre-doctoral levels;
• participate and maintain active Endodontic faculty practice; and
• guide and conduct research and research programs.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

• DDS/DMD degree or equivalent;
• Certificate or Master's degree in Endodontics or related field;

• substantial record of scholarship, including a history of research funding and/or scholarly publications;
• evidence of current relevant teaching experience; and
• professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

HIGHLY Desirable qualifications:

• relevant leadership/administrative experience;
• American Board of Endodontics Board Eligibility or Board Certification;
• recent active Endodontic clinical practice experience; and
• recent history of teaching Endodontic specialty in CODA/CDAC accredited dental school.

Desirable qualifications:

• active research program;
• M.S. and/or Ph.D. in Oral Science or equivalent; and
• record of publications.
