The Arizona Student Unions is looking for a Dining Services Attendant, Sr. to join our team. This position is responsible for various duties in the preparation and service of food, providing quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, and guests.

This position requires evening, weekend, and holiday work.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greets
    and serves guests courteously; prepares orders accurately and efficiently
    while ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Maintains
    proper staffing levels, delegates tasks, and fills in during breaks or
    shortages.
  • Supports
    labor and food cost goals; assists with forecasting and cost summaries
    using FoodPro.
  • Ensures
    the unit is clean, stocked, and organized; properly stores and rotates
    inventory.
  • Trains
    and monitors staff performance; participates in student hiring, mentoring,
    and team building.
  • Follows
    food safety, allergen, and sanitation guidelines; ensures compliance with
    operational standards.
  • Oversees
    cashier accuracy and payment handling; completes shift reports, waste
    logs, and temperature logs.
  • Communicates
    effectively with staff and supervisors; provides input on sales trends and
    actively resolves issues.
  • Assists
    with weekly inventory and product ordering from vendors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge
    of food service operations, including sanitation standards and food
    preparation.
  • Knowledge
    of food service equipment such as steamers, slicers, and fryers.
  • Knowledge
    of labor and food cost budgets and how to support them effectively.
  • Knowledge
    of basic computer operations and software relevant to food service.
  • Skill
    in communicating clearly and professionally with staff and customers.
  • Ability
    to apply operational knowledge to maintain efficiency and safety in a
    food service environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability
    to transport and/or lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must be able to work nights, holidays, weekends, and days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous food service experience.
