The Division of Acute Care Surgery within the University of Iowa Department of Surgery is seeking atemporaryResearch Assistantto support projects in the lab of Dr. Lucy Wibbenmeyer. Under guidance from the Principal Investigator, this position assists colleagues with tasks directly related to research studies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation, as well as exercise independent judgement and recognize the need for a high level of confidentiality. Duties Include: * * Perform research activities for one or more studies, including: * Running samples * Assisting with dressings * Data analysis and data entry * Attending multicenter interdisciplinary research team meetings via Zoom and Teams to troubleshoot and analyze protocols and propose modifications; and * Preparing research results for publication in reports, papers, and other media. * Other duties as assigned. * * Collaborate with PI, faculty, and other research team members to write manuscripts for completed studies and literature review. Schedule: This position is expected to work no more than 10 hours/week. Specific schedule to be determined at hire. Degree in relevant field of science, including health sciences, preferred. * Experience with standard office equipment including Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Publisher, etc.). * Excellent interpersonal skills, including effectively communicating (written and verbally) with vendors, collaborators ,and project researchers. * Demonstrated organizational skills, reliability, and time management skills. Desired Qualifications: * Previous experience in health care-related field. * Previous research experience. * Experience with data entry and database management. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification.
