About Pinterest:

Millions of people around the world come to our platform to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. At Pinterest, we're on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.

Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other's unique experiences and embrace theflexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It's Possible.

The Ads Quality team helps Pinners move from inspiration to action by showing the right ad at the right time. We are at the core of the entire ads system optimizing for Pinner, Advertiser, and Pinterest value. Modules present a foundational shift in how we curate and personalize the ads experience for our users, providing them with meaningful content variety to help them opt into an experience that they will love. The output of this work will both be highly impactful (driving measurable value for Pinners and Advertisers) and highly visible (your launches will change the way the app looks and feels), and will critically contribute to our mission of helping hundreds of millions of people find the inspiration to create a life they love.

The ideal candidate has a passion for delighting our Pinners and strong intuition about what matters most to their experience. In addition, they must possess a deep understanding of the back-end systems, have worked cross functionally with engineering, data teams, and PMM and understand the interaction effects of introducing qualitatively different content onto the page, and tradeoff dynamics of the ads marketplace.

What you'll do:

  • Own well-defined components within back-end ads delivery systems (e.g., parts of retrieval, ranking, pacing/budgeting, auction/bidding, quality/diversity guardrails, conversion visibility, forecasting, modeling or measurement) that help match the right ad to the right Pinner at the right time. Contribute to the vision for new and existing capabilities and translate problem statements into clear business and technical requirements via focused business requirements documents (BRD) and product requirement documents (PRD) (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria), for your area. Create and maintain a clear, prioritized roadmap and requirements backlog and track requirement status from discovery through GA, and ensure traceability from business goals to shipped features. Plan and deliver a sequenced roadmap for your components, aligning with partner teams on architecture, guardrails, and experimentation so launches drive measurable advertiser and Pinner outcomes.

  • Partner day-to-day with engineering, ML, data science/analytics, design, and research to deliver high-quality features; collaborate with PMM, sales, and policy/integrity as needed for launches. Work closely with PM peers across Ads Quality (e.g., retrieval, ranking, pacing/budgeting, measurement/incrementality, integrity) and with PMs on front-end presentation/components (e.g., modules, formats, surfaces) to manage dependencies, define APIs/contracts for your area, align on experiment design and guardrails, and coordinate GTM and feedback loops. Facilitate roadmap and requirements reviews, keep shared artifacts (roadmap, PRDs, dependency trackers) up to date, and proactively surface risks, decisions, and changes.

  • Build new and iterate on features within our ads bidding and optimization solutions that help advertisers clearly express objectives and align budgets to their business needs, while maintaining a safe, delightful Pinner experience. Deliver scoped improvements from discovery through launch and adoption, instrumenting metrics, writing documentation, and incorporating learnings into subsequent iterations. Define success metrics and acceptance criteria up front, track requirement completion and quality signals post-launch, and use insights to update the roadmap and next set of requirements.

What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience working as a TPM, Product Manager, Product Marketing Manager, Operations, account management, Engineering Manager, Data Scientist, or related role.
  • Strong evidence of the ability to review and define new products and strategies with back-end products in an ambiguous space and to execute from ideation, roadmaps, to go-to-market.
  • Experience working with Engineering, data, or PMM cross functional teams and a strong ability to empathize with, anticipate the needs of, and effectively collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of business metrics and tradeoffs in the contexts of online marketplaces.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science/Statistics/Math/Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred but not required: Experience with Ads Marketplace and/or Ads Formats.
  • Preferred but not required: Direct experience with and fundamental understanding of ads delivery systems.
  • Preferred but not required: Design, run, or analyze marketplace experiments.

  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
