Leads are responsible for monitoring and reporting any extraordinary performance or deviations from operational standards. The Planner focuses on expediting and optimization of mail or freight for air transportation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to): * Plan outbound mail for outbound flights; * Coordinate pickup and delivery of mail; * Monitor scanning efficiency; * Communicate with Airline personnel; * Retrieve and enter information from customer and QAS computer-based systems; Required Skills and Experience: * High school diploma or equivalent preferred; * Must be at least 18 years old; * Previous shipping experience preferred but not required; * Maintain and treat all information as confidential; * Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives; * Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English; * Must be able to verbally direct in English; * A valid driver's license is required for this position. * Successful completion of the SIDA airport badging or background check process is required for this location. * Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances required by Local and Federal Regulatory Authorities. Work Environment: * Indoor environment which may contain small, close or confined space(s). Physical Demands: * Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl in awkward positions; * Must be able to lift, push pull up to 75 pounds at times; * May be exposed to hazards inherent in airport operations, including noise, vehicles, equipment, and weather, all of which are well-managed with a high level of training, personal protective equipment, and safety procedures. |
