Job Details:
The Mercer University School of Engineering (MUSE) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Engineering starting August 2026. Rank will be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

Candidates are sought to enhance the School's focus on emerging technologies in Computer Engineering, particularly with expertise, scholarly interest, and an excellent capacity for teaching and research in multiple areas within Computer Engineering, such as digital systems design, System-on-Chip embedded systems, computer architecture, high-performance computing, or other emerging fields in computer engineering.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a closely related related discipline
  • Applicants who are ABD may apply if they will have their degree by the time of employment
  • Effective oral and written communication with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with professional organizations such as IEEE, ASEE, ABET, etc.
  • Prior teaching experience at the college level
  • Consulting or industrial experience


Additional Information:

Mercer's undergraduate engineering program is accredited by ABET/EAC using a core curriculum model. The School of Engineering offers both Bachelor's and Master of Science in Engineering degrees with specializations in biomedical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, and mechanical, as well as engineering-related programs in cybersecurity, technical communications, and industrial management. The undergraduate curriculum is dynamic, innovative, and broadly based, and it includes the option of an integrated BSE/MSE degree program for qualified candidates. Total engineering enrollment is over 750 students.

Selection of the final candidate is contingent on a successful background check.
