Pay Range: $30.69 - $37.60 per hour (based on experience)

Shift: 1st Shift | Full-Time | Direct Hire

What You'll Do

As a Dock Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining commercial and industrial equipment to ensure efficient and safe facility operations. You'll perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of systems - all while upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Daily Responsibilities:



  • Follow all OSHA regulations, lock-out/tag-out, and company safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular system and equipment checks to identify and document performance issues.
  • Maintain and repair dock levelers, dock seals, bumpers, and commercial door systems (automatic, hollow metal, and overhead doors).
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct inspections and measurements of operating characteristics such as speeds, pressures, and vibration levels.
  • Perform minor building and equipment repairs, including light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks like filter changes, oil changes, condenser cleaning, and machine lubrication.
  • Document all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and clients, ensuring updates on work progress and completion timelines.
  • Provide occasional guidance to subcontractors and assist with special projects as needed.



What You'll Bring

Education:



  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.


Experience:



  • Minimum 1 year of experience servicing and maintaining commercial dock systems, automatic doors, or overhead door hardware.
  • Experience in maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems is required.
  • Prior exposure to brands such as Rite Hite, Power Ramp, Nabco, Stanley Access, or Assa Abloy is a plus.
  • General experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry work preferred.


Licenses & Certifications:



  • Valid driver's license required.
  • AAADM certification preferred.


Technical Skills:



  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing building and equipment issues.
  • Competent with computers, mobile devices, and digital documentation tools.
  • Comfortable operating lifts such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing priorities.


Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs, frequently climb stairs and ladders, and work in varying climate conditions, including rooftops and outdoor environments.
