As the Director of Manufacturing Excellence, you will be a key strategic leader, integrating our manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and continuous improvement (CI) teams. You will drive product quality, process reliability, and operational excellence-championing best practices across the organization while mentoring technical leaders in an environment that values growth, collaboration, and impact.

What You'll Do:

Engineering Leadership
* Direct, develop, and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers to support production, quality, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
* Set clear goals, foster professional development, and provide actionable feedback, ensuring engineering strategies align with company standards.

Quality Leadership
* Oversee the development and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure company-wide compliance (ISO 9001 and other standards).
* Lead root cause investigations, CAPA (corrective/preventive action) processes, and supplier quality initiatives.
* Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality and product performance, driving data-driven improvements.
* Develop, coach, and set expectations for the Quality Manager and quality team to ensure professional growth and high performance.

Continuous Improvement Leadership
* Drive lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen projects to eliminate waste, enhance safety, and deliver operational value.
* Facilitate cross-functional teams in CI efforts, promoting a culture of systematic problem-solving and continuous learning.

Manufacturing Engineering Oversight
* Supervise the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes, tooling, and facility layouts.
* Support process validations, capability studies, and technical troubleshooting to resolve manufacturing challenges.

Strategic Integration
* Align quality, CI, and engineering strategies with business objectives; communicate progress and challenges to senior leadership.
* Recommend investment priorities for advanced technologies or process upgrades.
* Act as a change agent and champion operational excellence across the manufacturing organization.

Qualifications and Experience Needed:
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, industrial or manufacturing engineering, or related field (or a combination of education and 10+ years' relevant experience).
* Proven leadership with a history of managing and developing high-performance manufacturing or engineering teams.
* Expertise in continuous improvement, including Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Kaizen methodologies.
* Proficiency with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and results-oriented decision-making abilities.

Travel: Travel will be required and will vary according to business requirements. Up to 25% may be expected.

Location: This position may be based out of our Sioux Center, IA, or Omaha, NE offices.

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $115K - $150K + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. The pay is determined by job related skills, training, education, and experience.
