Job Description

Team Leads are workers who have a high degree of technical proficiency in their jobs, who serve as intermediaries between their supervisor and employees. Team leaders serve as mentors and trainers for their work area. With this dual role, the job description(s) of the jobs in the area also apply to the Team Lead.

Essential Functions: Essential functions, including how an individual is to perform them and the frequency with which the tasks are performed; the tasks must be part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job.

Duties

  • Daily scheduling and organizing work departments.
  • Provide direction and scheduling to production team members in their daily activities.
  • Assigning work and giving directions.
  • Monitor work progress.
  • Communicate with all departments, logistics, engineering, and production management (to include management on other shifts), needs, priorities, and issues.
  • Promote flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customers.
  • Investigate and fix problems on the production floor.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members by investigating root cause for scrap and RMA issues. Work with team and quality department to prevent recurrence.
  • Train and orient new employees on company standards and procedures
  • Implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment.
  • Develop employees' continuous improvement abilities.
  • Use and develop visual systems so that no problems are hidden. Actively seek to resolve any concerns while adhering to the company policy and standards of behavior
  • Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee and provide constructive feedback
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong technical knowledge related to the field of manufacturing and the area/department assigned to.
  • Communicate in a clear, approachable, professional and pro-active manner, Provide strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective.
  • Be creative, flexible and able to drive/guide change.
  • Ability to multi-task, follow through and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Capability to develop and coach individuals to higher performance.
  • Provide strong operations thinking that moves the vision to successful implementation.
  • Leadership qualities - patience, kindness, humility, respectful, selfless, forgiving, honest and committed to the growth of the individual and organization.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Experience

Two years supervision experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Demonstrated technical work proficiency in the department assigned to.

Computer Skills

Proficient computer skills.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate requiring hearing protection in certain areas.

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

PPE is provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee's position and exposure.

Schedule:

Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, additional overtime hours as needed
