The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

Job Overview:

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Although based in the Southern Employee Health Region, may be required to rotate to other Employee Health and Wellness clinics depending on operational needs.

With advanced clinical expertise, the APN performs pre-placement physicals, fitness for duty evaluations, return-to-work health evaluations, work-related injuries, and medical clearances of existing employees and potential new hires in accordance to the departments policies, procedures and protocols.

The APN also evaluates employees medical surveillance, health screenings and for-cause substance testing

The APN performs many of these same services for external clients as well

The APN may be asked to go to offsite clinics and other external clients

Travel will be required

Certifications and Licenses:

  • At least 3yrs of experience. (with occupational background, primary care and/or urgent care is preferred).
  • APN License / PA License and certification
  • NP Certification (if NP)
  • CDS and DEA
  • BLS, ACLS, and CPR through the American Heart Association
  • Master's degree in Family Nurse Practitioner (if NP)
  • Board certification requirements via AANP or ANCC.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) Certification - without DOT certification, must be obtained within 4 months of employment

Shift:

  • Per Diem (2 -3 shifts per month)

Essential Functions:

  • Provides medical assessments, treatments, clearances for RWJBH applicants, team members, constituents and external customers per specific company profiles and or regulatory standards
  • Serves employees and provides timely evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries, illnesses and exposures
  • Clinical practice accurately reflects NJ Board of Medical Examiners regulations, Code of Ethics, the current NJ Department of Health requirements, and RWJBH policies and procedures
  • Develops and implements appropriate plan of care
  • Evaluates current protocols and standards of care for translation of best practice into clinical practice
  • Supports the development of evidenced-based practice protocols and standards of care that include interventions and treatments to achieve desired outcomes
  • Prescribes medications and or recommends over-the-counter medications as appropriate
  • Initiates laboratory tests, immunizations, and diagnostic test, procedures as appropriate according to regulation and scope of practice
  • Demonstrates competent clinical skills with treatment plans using most effective screening test or procedure
  • Collaborates with physician and consults effectively with other members of the health care team
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills interdisciplinary to achieve results
  • Provides accurate, systematic and organized documentation of findings, recommendations, plan and education
  • Independently participates in continuing education and maintains documentation
  • Develops a personal plan of development in area of clinical expertise, conferring with leader on goals and objectives
  • Provides culturally diverse and educationally appropriate education in relation to patient care and needs
  • Serves as a clinical resource to nursing staff, patients, and other multidisciplinary team members across the continuum to evaluate complex patients and identify appropriate interventions and evaluation of outcomes
  • Acts as a resource to staff for addressing clinical, process, and system opportunities for improvement which promote excellence in care and clinical outcomes
  • Promotes a collaborative work environment which supports the organizational mission, behavior expectations and values
  • Identifies ethical care issues and coordinates interdisciplinary collaborative meetings to resolve those issues
  • Participates and provides report out in Hospital's Safety, Infection Control and Environment of Care meetings as assigned
  • Other duties or projects as assigned
