Job Overview:

Director, Culture is responsible for shaping, activating, and sustaining a thriving organizational culture that brings the company's vision, mission, and values to life. As a key member of the Talent Management leadership team within HR, this role will define and drive strategies that embed the values, engage employees across the system supporting an engaging employee experience and strengthen the employee value proposition EVP. Ensure culture is not only articulated but also lived across the organization, creating a consistent, inspiring, and high-performing workplace.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 7+ years of progressive HR, Culture, Values, Organizational Effectiveness experience, with significant focus on culture articulation and embedding
  • Proven track record of leading culture transformation and embedding values across diverse organizations
  • Deep expertise in culture activation
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into action
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and influencing skills to inspire employees and leaders alike
  • Data-driven approach to measuring culture, engagement, and EVP effectiveness
  • Experience working in complex, global, and matrixed environments

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in HR, Organizational Psychology, Business, related field preferred or equivalent experience

Essential Functions:

  • Culture Activation & Enhancement
    • Define, articulate, and evolve the company s culture with senior leadership
    • Translate company values into practical behaviors and programs across the employee lifecycle
    • Partner with leaders to model and champion cultural behaviors across all levels
    • Design and implement initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, belonging, and organizational identity
  • Culture Council
    • Build a network of Culture Councils across the system to engage employees of all levels in culture activation
    • Lead the network of Culture Councils to marry bottom up and top down inputs for culture activation initiative
    • Continuously assess the employee journey to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, moments that matter
  • Employee Value Proposition EVP
    • Lead process engaging all key stakeholders to define, refine, and communicate the organization s EVP
    • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Communications, and Branding teams to ensure alignment of EVP with the employer brand
    • Measure impact of EVP on attraction, engagement, and retention
  • Dynamic Capabilities
    • Incorporate into culture activation concept of continuous change as a positive for competitive advantage and growth
    • Partner with Head of Change Management & OD to ensure Culture and Change Management practices, playbooks and learning are fully aligned
  • Collaboration & Thought Leadership
    • Partner with HR, business leaders, and communications teams to integrate culture initiatives into talent management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness strategies
    • Develop measurement frameworks to assess cultural health and values alignment
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on cultural health
    • Consistently bring best practice and external culture and employee experience thought leadership from healthcare and elsewhere into RWJBH consideration
