ABOUT THE POSITION

Our Distribution Centers utilize state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated team to provide Columbia Sportswear Company a competitive advantage in distribution. Teams are responsible for shipping millions of units of apparel, footwear, and equipment annually within the family of brands. Accurate order fulfillment and on-time shipments are the hallmarks of our facility.

As an Maintenance Lead, you will have the opportunity to assist in repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities and related equipment. Performs minor electrical and plumbing work, painting, or carpentry repairs of fixtures and equipment on company premises. Conducts periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work. Evaluates requests for repairs, manages building requests, and acts as liaison with outside contractors.

*This position will be onsite at our Robards, Kentucky location Monday - Thursday starting around 4:00pm to 2:00am.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Provides preventive maintenance for all facility equipment. Uses Microsoft Word and/or Excel to maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment. Monitors and records all maintenance and repair activities. Documents locations of facilities operating systems or equipment locations.

  • Installs, builds, or modifies building furniture as required.

  • Assists with the document-retention program. Responds to and manages requests for pick up and delivery to document-retention storage site, and requests to pull documents from retention storage facility.

  • Manages and controls tools and spare parts needed for repair and maintenance of equipment and systems.

  • Provides for maintenance and monthly inspection of fire extinguishers, AED Machines, and Fire Sprinkler Valves.

  • Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff, and other departments to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.

  • Ability to cope with a stressful work environment and cordially interact with coworkers to accomplish common tasks.

YOU HAVE

  • High school degree or 7+ years of equivalent experience
  • Additional training in the maintenance trades, formal apprenticeship, or on-the-job training preferred, in the areas of mechanical, electrical, electronic, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic and HVAC systems.

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience with material handling and/or warehouse and distribution operations

  • Requires knowledge of skilled trades and understanding of electrical and building codes.

  • Able to read building blueprints

  • Require knowledge of basic mathematics, handbook formulas and maintenance techniques

  • Requires knowledge of safety rules and regulations

  • Average computer skills and knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications Possess good interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Able to utilize and analyze complicated drawings

  • Able to manipulate and utilize a variety of hand tools

  • Able to instruct others in technical methods for performing repairs and facilities maintenance is helpful

  • The ability to regularly carry up to 40+ pounds and push up to 80 pounds.
