Taft is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our team.
We are seeking a Project Manager to support the Information Technology team. All Taft employees operate under a "Client First" philosophy-in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages projects across the firm:
- Employs and improves Taft project standards. With guidance and direction from the Director of Project Management ("director"), uses Taft project standards to manage all aspects of projects for various stakeholders within the firm. Continuously improve Taft project standards, processes, and tools.
- Defines business requirements and establishes project charter. Uses information-gathering techniques to work with stakeholders and leadership to collect business requirements and establish project charter. Creates project charter that aligns project outcomes with Taft goals.
- Conducts thorough project scope discovery. Plans scope management and leads cross-functional teams through project. Encourages and motivates colleagues to actively contribute to scope discovery.
- Creates management plans as appropriate. Evaluates project needs and stakeholder requirements and develops management plans (cost, quality, resource, communication, risk, procurement, and stakeholder engagement) as appropriate.
- Leads and participates in the execution of project plans. Establishes appropriate meeting schedules with applicable participants to execute project work. Captures and tracks project tasks. Serves as central point of communication for various project stakeholders. Manages quality in line with scope, and manages schedule and budget baselines. Serves as resource for data reporting, data analysis, and data interpretation on assigned projects.
- Partners with all areas of the firm to manage projects. Works with all areas of the firm to manage cross-functional projects with applied PMO disciplines. Coordinate activities of team members and work with functional managers to secure resources.
- Closes projects. Works with appropriate project team members and operational departments to close projects and create or update operational process assets.
Provides for Effective Project Execution:
- Implements a consistent, repeatable project lifecycle. Ensures all stages of project lifecycle are initiated and completed. Works with project teams to scope and estimate work in a collaborative manner. Reports project status as requested by director. Escalate projects risks and issues to director.
- Develops measurable project objectives. Ensures quantifiable project objectives (metrics) are identified on projects. Tracks and reports the ongoing progress towards these items. Looks for trends in results that provide insight to improvement opportunities within the PMO or projects. Creates actionable plans for improving project success.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, Interpersonal and Other Requirements:
- At least 1 year of litigation-related Legal Assistant experience strongly preferred.
- Education beyond high school or coursework related to the legal industry preferred.
- Proficient command of the English language and standard grammar rules.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

Taft offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, flexible spending, 401K, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, bonus and more. The salary range for this position is $100k/hr. - $130/hr.The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for the position.Within the range, individual pay is determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
