Are you a licensed Respiratory Therapist looking for flexible hours and meaningful work in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation? We're seeking a dedicated professional to support our rehab program on an As Needed basis.

Position Highlights:

• Schedule Needs: Primarily Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with a focus on late morning to early afternoon classes. Half-day shifts are available if preferred.
• Flexibility: As a PRN role, hours will vary week to week. Some weeks may have no scheduled hours, while others could approach full-time depending on patient census and staff availability.
• Team Support: You'll be stepping in to assist during staff absences, high patient volumes, or special program needs.

What We're Looking For:

• Current Respiratory Therapy license
• Experience or interest in cardiac/pulmonary rehab

* Utilizes scientific principles to develop exercise prescriptions. Monitors client's response to activity and adjusts treatment plan accordingly.

* Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care.

* Delivers high quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills specific to the rehabilitation specialty in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.

* Utilizes holistic approach (considering psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the individuals served.

* Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and holds them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.

* Utilizes critical thinking in developing appropriate interventions while maintaining responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.

* Will work at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and at West Des Moines- Lakeview.

Education: Graduate of accredited Respiratory Care program.

Experience: 2 years recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist. Preferred: Knowledge of Home Care and/or oxygen delivery systems commonly used in the home. Comfortable and skilled with providing education to individuals and small groups.

License(s)/Certification(s): Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Iowa. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office - basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
