About the Department:


The mission of University Life's (UL) Marketing and Communications is to position UL at the center of an engaged campus community through dynamic, innovative, and purposeful marketing campaigns, provide audience insight and define success using evidence-based metrics and analytics, improve efficiency by implementing new technologies and promoting a common approach to marketing and communications, and strengthen alliances both within UL and between UL and campus culture by devising and executing targeted communications plans and creating connections through collaborative communication efforts.


About the position:


The Photographer will work as part of a team comprised of marketing and communications professionals and reports to the Associate Director of Marketing and communications within University Life Marketing and Communications.


Responsibilities:



  • Capture high-quality photography deliverables for University Life events/campaigns/programming/etc.;
  • Capture images and other photo content for university communications channels;
  • Apply batch editing, advanced retouching, and color grading using Adobe Creative Suite tools;
  • Manage and export files for digital asset platforms; and
  • Accept flexible shifts, attend team meetings, and communicate reliably regarding assignments and deadlines.


Required Qualifications:



  • Ability to shoot using full manual settings;
  • Hands-on experience operating DSLR cameras. (Note: We are not responsible for personal equipment if lost, stolen, or damaged);
  • Ability to provide and maintain personal photography and video equipment (camera bodies, lenses, portable lighting, lens filters, etc.);
  • Ability to achieve proper exposure in a wide range of lighting environments;
  • Ability to batch edit;
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Bridge/Lightroom Camera Raw, etc.);
  • Experience with multiple photo editing techniques, ex: Basic retouching: color correction, color grading, cropping and re-compositions, clone stamping, removing objects imaging sharpening etc.;
  • Knowledge of file management, including organizing and exporting in appropriate formats (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, PDF, etc.);
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities;
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities efficiently;
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people and communities;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented workplace;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and
  • Ability to work occasional weekends or evenings to capture photos.
