After successful fulfillment of demonstrated learnings of the 12-month Associate Radio Frequency Engineer Apprenticeship program, recipients will receive a certificate of completion from T-Mobile. Through the course of the apprenticeship, you will complete a series of demonstrated learnings delivered through digital platforms, classroom training, one-on-one training with subject matter experts, mentorship, experiential learning through on-the-job assignments, and completion of a final project. Earners of the Apprenticeship certificate have successfully demonstrated proficiency in the following knowledge and skills: If you are passionate about Wireless Technology and demonstrate a familiarity with programming/coding, build/maintain databases, and create stunning visuals; then this is the perfect role for you. Participates on a team responsible for the Planning and Performance of GSM, UMTS, LTE, and NR networks for T-Mobile US. Provides input to develop guidelines on the design, planning, capacity management, and deployment for the network market. Participates in the development of market standards, documents, processes, and practices. Earners of the Apprenticeship certificate have successfully demonstrated proficiency in the following knowledge and skills: Network site configuration, a familiarity with network hardware, KPIs, ONE score, network optimization, network design, network deployment, perform practical application, cross-functional activities, and provide project support. In addition to RF Engineering, will be an active member on a small team responsible for the creation of new Windows tools to improve productivity for the RF Engineering Team. This includes Excel/Access Visual Basic (VBA), Ericsson Python API Automation, PowerBI and/or HTML5 Web-Based Charting & GIS visuals/reports, and database administrations (designing tables procedures). The Radio Frequency Engineer Apprentice Certificate is issued automatically after the successful completion of the apprenticeship. Required - High School Diploma or GED and must be 18 years of age or older Preferred - 1 year of Community College in an IT or computer discipline or Work Ready Certificate Preferred Technical Competencies Database Administration (design, building and maintaining structured databases) Databases Engines (e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, and/or MS Access) SQL coding Programming (visual basic, python, C#, and/or C++) Visualization Tools (e.g., PowerBI, Qlik, and/or Tableau) HTML5 Web Site Design (with JavaScript, CSS, PHP) Performs design of new site additions, sector additions and frequency overlays and prepares new site configuration data using Atoll Performs hourly and daily statistical monitoring and review of radio network key performance indicators (KPI Preferred Soft-Skills Technical writing and presentation skills. Able to develop and articulate technical strategies. Self-motivated and able to work well under pressure. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Never stop growing! |
