Responsibilities
University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is committed to providing intensive mental health services to children, adolescents and adults as well as detox and substance abuse programs for adults. Our mental health facility provides safe and effective inpatient treatment to assist individuals in leading more productive and fulfilling lives. The facility is located on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Orlando, Florida, and includes 112 licensed beds. We are currently seeking qualified professionals with active/clear license in the state of Florida. Previous experience in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is required. POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Director of Admissions with the administrative oversight and direction of the hospital's Admissions Department This position provides supervision to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services, including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the hospital's medical staff, nursing staff, department leaders, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers. The Assistant Admissions Director is responsible for assisting with departmental adherence to policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data entry/management. In addition, the Assistant Admissions Director assists in the development and management of processes related to efficient and smooth admission processes. The Assistant Admissions Director reports directly to the Director of Admissions and will assist in interviewing/hiring new staff, staff supervision, clinical case consultation, coordination and organization of day-to-day activities that will enhance effectiveness of the Admissions Department and security to ensure smooth admissions processing for referral sources, families, staff and patients Duties will include but are not limited to:

Qualifications Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health, nursing or a related field. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing: License required. Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. Must have strong management skills with ability to effectively communicate with staff, ensuring proper employee performance management.
