The Role As a Lead Android Engineer, you'll architect and drive the Android strategy, lead a talented team of mobile engineers, and work closely with design, product, and backend teams to deliver seamless, secure, and high-performance app experience. Location This is a Work From Home position available from any US-based location. You must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card for consideration. The Main Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end development of the Quantum Fiber Android app, from architecture and design to deployment and maintenance. Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver intuitive and robust mobile experiences. Define and maintain scalable, modular, and clean code architecture. Mentor and guide junior Android developers; conduct code reviews and enforce best practices. Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness on a wide range of Android devices. Experience in writing Unit test cases. Implement advanced features such as account management, billing, network diagnostics, smart home integration, and real-time chat support. Monitor app analytics and crash reports to iterate and improve app stability and user satisfaction. Stay up to date with new Android SDK features, technologies, and trends; evaluate and integrate relevant tools and libraries. Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to sprint planning, estimations, and retrospectives. What We Look For in a Candidate Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 6+ years of experience in Android development with a strong grasp of Kotlin and Java. Proven experience building and publishing consumer-grade Android applications to the Google Play Store. Preferablywith experience in Jetpack Compose for building modern, declarative UIs. Deep understanding of Android architecture components (Jetpack), MVVM/MVI patterns, and dependency injection (e.g., Hilt, Dagger). Experience with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and network communication using Retrofit or similar. Strong knowledge of performance optimization, memory management, and background processing in Android. Familiarity with Firebase, analytics tools, push notifications, and in-app messaging. Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. Experience with CI/CD for Android, automated testing, and release management. Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location.
