Summary of the Job:

The Proof/Check Processing Specialist position consists of keying and balancing BIC Optima branch work for all 19 banks. Check Processing duties consist of validating and monitoring all work coming into the AFS system from both internal and external sources.

40 hours per week.

About This Role:

Schedule will be as follows but will need to be flexible for coverage of earlier hours occasionally.
Monday 7:30am to 4pm

Tuesday 7:30am to 4pm
Wednesday 7:30am to 4pm
Thursday 7:30am to 4pm
Friday 7:30am to 4pm

Role Description:

This role works with two different operating systems that work together to ensure accurate and efficient processing of checks and x9 files. Each system requires operators to diligently look through customer checks to ensure they get processed correctly. Manage workload based on customer impact and prioritization guidelines. Provide employee and customer inquiry support by utilizing effective problem-solving resolutions. Escalate necessary issues to management or systems support.

BIC System Summary:

  • Will be responsible for the keying and balancing the Proof work coming from Branches.
  • Employees will work in the BIC system and key any items not readable by imaging.
  • Operators will need to ensure transactions are balanced, perform searches, and check for duplicate items.
  • Correct transactions as needed, while communicating with the branches and other departments prior to and after cut-off hours.
  • Scanning of internal work on an image capture scanner and ensuring those items are keyed, balanced, and occasionally sent back to the original department.
  • Specific deadlines are placed for accuracy and to minimize customer impact.

Banker/Teller Support

  • Answer questions from branches and provide support on how to correctly post the transaction.

ATM Deposit Review:

  • Accountable to review ATM check deposits throughout the processing day.
  • Reviewing files looking for deposit irregularities, indorsement issues, possible Reg CC or Fraud.
  • Report findings to the appropriate areas for further processing.

TCM System Summary:

  • Operators will also process the Image Cash Letters that come from branches, Mobile, ATM, RDC and Lockbox that process in the TCM system.
  • Key and balancing processing files, and perform additional searches for duplicate and fraudulent prevention
  • Research and resolve any issues found, contacting system support when appropriate
  • Files are then created and sent to various outlets both within and outside of FNBO. Each file as well as daily totals much balance before completion.
  • Out of balance must use reason and independent thinking to resolve the issue.
  • End of the business day, all on-us items are exported via various file releases. Specific deadlines are placed for exporting files from the TCM system,
  • File sends are verified to ensure completion as any delay can impact other posting processes.

Understand and comply with the Bank's BSA/AML Program; adhere to all bank policy, laws and regulations applicable to role.

Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience, and Physical Qualifications (if Required by Work of Role)

Required:

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task as needed.
  • Ability to work as a team in a fast paced, highly detailed environment to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Regular and predictable attendance

Desired:

  • Working knowledge of Branch Image Capture or Check Processing functions
  • 10 Key skills
  • Knowledge banking products and processes.

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Branch Image Capture and or Check Processing functions, will need 10 Key skills, and aknowledge banking products and processes.

Compensation:

Compensation range (base pay): $35,015.00-$52,522.00

This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.

Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
