Remote | Full Time

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated base salary for this position is $225,000 to $250,000. Currax offers best in class benefits programs that includes health, retirement, paid leaves, and wellness programs.

About the Role

The Sr Director, Market Access & Account Mngt reports to the President & CEO and is a senior commercial leader responsible for developing and executing payer and channel access strategies to ensure optimal product coverage, reimbursement, and patient affordability. This role leads strategic engagement with U.S. payers (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, PBM, Employer, IDN, GPO, and Government accounts (VA/DOD) to secure favorable access and contract positions while balancing gross-to-net (GTN) and brand profitability objectives. The role combines strategic thinking, negotiation mastery, and high-touch relationship management to deliver both access and financial performance objectives and partners cross-functionally across several teams, including Commercial, Medical, Legal, and Finance to align market access with overall business goals, influence pricing and value strategy, and enable patient access to Currax's flagship brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Strategy & Management
    • Oversee channel landscape, account segmentation, and prioritization.
    • Track and report performance against key metrics (e.g., coverage, pull-through, contract performance).
    • Design and implement innovative engagement strategies for top-tier payers and strategic accounts.
  • Relationship Building & Market Access Strategy
    • Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with payer executives, decision-makers, and influencers.
    • Develop and execute best-in-class access strategies for optimal product positioning across Medical and Pharmacy benefit formularies.
  • Market Intelligence & Go-to-Market Leadership
    • Analyze the evolving healthcare landscape to identify opportunities within national and key accounts.
    • Lead the company's go-to-market strategy for payer organizations, prioritizing target institutions and partnership opportunities.
  • Payer Negotiations & Financial Modeling
    • Lead the full contracting process, including scenario modeling, financial impact assessment, legal review, and execution.
    • Negotiate complex payer contracts (rebates, volume-based agreements, access guarantees) within approved pricing parameters.
    • Collaborate with Pricing & Contracting and Finance to model contract scenarios and manage gross-to-net (GTN) implications.
  • Operational Excellence & Compliance
    • Support execution of payer-related initiatives, ensuring infrastructure streamlines coverage and reimbursement processes.
    • Ensure all activities comply with healthcare regulations and company standards.
  • Internal Education & Field Communication
    • Serve as the voice of the payer within the organization, educating internal stakeholders on reimbursement dynamics.
    • Deliver training content to enhance cross-functional understanding of market access and commercial impact.
    • Communicate impactful coverage decisions and emerging opportunities across National, Regional, and Territory levels.
  • Health Economics & Industry Representation
    • Support evidence generation, budget impact analyses, and health outcomes research to inform cost-effectiveness strategy.
    • Represent Currax at industry groups, trade associations, conferences, and policy forums.

Required Qualification & Skills

  • 10-15+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on National Accounts, Market Access, and related leadership roles.
  • Proven success in negotiating with major payer organizations, including PBMs, MCOs, IDNs, employer groups, and government entities (e.g., VA, DoD).
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing pricing, reimbursement, and contracting strategies, including rebate and discount frameworks.
  • Experience supporting market access operations, and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR).
  • Deep knowledge of the regulatory and compliance landscape governing pharmaceutical market access.
  • Strong ethical foundation and unwavering commitment to healthcare compliance.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%.
