Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol - Full Time

As a Security Officer - Armed Retail Patrol - Full Time in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a retail location, you will be responsible for patrolling assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. Your visible presence and commitment to exceptional customer service will play a key role in supporting a secure atmosphere. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry the appropriate certification while acting as a trusted resource and upholding the values of agility, reliability, and integrity through teamwork.

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
• Assist with access control and/or visitor management as needed in a retail environment.
• Document observations, incidents, and/or activities, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal management and client representatives as required.
• Maintain a visible Allied Universal presence and interact professionally with employees, vendors, and customers.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least three years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a Level III armed certification if required by Texas state regulations.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
